COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Ohio Dominican women's volleyball team traveled to the GLIAC/GLVC Asics Crossover Tournament where the Panthers future conference, the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, earned a 24-21 victory over the Great Lakes Valley Conference. The Panthers helped in the cause for the GLIAC as they posted a perfect 3-0 record at the Aim High Facility in Lansing, Michigan.
 

The tournament, which is the largest NCAA volleyball tournament in the country, was the second ever held between the two NCAA Division II Conferences that reside in the Midwest region.  The GLIAC also claimed last year's event by a 27-12 tally.

       
Ohio Dominican chipped in with victories over GLVC's Illinois-Springfield (3-2), Missouri S&T (3-2) and Kentucky Wesleyan (3-1). The Panthers will join the GLIAC along with Lake ErieCollege in the fall of 2010.
       
The Panthers opened the weekend with a hard fought victory over Illinois-Springfield. ODU fell behind early as they went down 2-0 to the Prairie Starts, but came storming back with three straight games to earn the victory. Leading the way for the Panthers was outside hitter Rachel Billing (Jr. /Anna, OH) with 20 kills. Freshman middle hitter Shannon Nadler (Leipsic, OH) came up big on both sides of the net adding 18 kills and five blocks for the Panthers. Defensively the Panthers combined for 95 digs led by Stacy Rogg (So. /Cincinnati, OH) with 24. 
       
ODU earned another come from behind victory in their second match of the weekend as they defeated Missouri S&T. The Panthers won game one, but dropped the next two to fall behind 2-1 in the match. The Panthers pulled out the victory with back-to-back wins in the fourth and fifth set led by another solid performance from Billing and Nadler. Billing recorded 12 kills, while Nadler and Stacy Rogg added 10 kills apiece. 
       
In their third and final match the Panthers defeated Kentucky Wesleyan in four games. ODU once again fell behind after the first set, but earned the victory with three straight victories to finish the tournament with a perfect 3-0 record. Nadler recorded 13 kills for the black and gold and Rogg had 17 digs in a complete game effort.   
      
ODU, now 16-13 overall, will return to action this Tuesday, October 20th as they travel to Richmond, Indiana to face IndianaUniversity - East. The Panthers and Red Wolves match is set for 7 p.m.
