Male and Female Athletes of the Week for the week ending January 18, 2010.
Nick Aldridge, a 6-7 forward from Portsmouth, Ohio, scored 32 and 33 points in back-to-back wins for Mountain State over West Virginia Institute of Technology and Lambuth University. Aldridge scored 32 points, adding 12 rebounds and shooting 11-for-24 from the field in a 98-76 win over WVUIT, and followed up that performance with 33 points and five rebounds in a 100-81 win over Lambuth to improve Mountain State to a perfect 20-0 record.
Miesha Williams, a 5'8 senior guard from Little Rock, Arkansas, was on fire this past week for Philander Smith, scoring 35 points in a tight 91-88 victory over Rust College. Williams added 11 rebounds for a double-double, adding four steals while shooting 9-for-20 from the field.
