January 26, 2010- Allen University's Byron Littlejohn and Ohio Dominican's Kirsten Ruen are the Association of Independent Institutions Male and Female Athletes of the Week for the week ending January 25, 2010.
Byron Littlejohn, a 5-9 senior guard from Clover, South Carolina, scored 27 points and five steals in a 77-56 win for Allen over Pensicola Christian College, and followed up that performance with 19 points, four rebounds and six assists in an 80-70 win over North Greenville College. Littlejohn shot 55.6 per cent from the field during the week, as Allen improved to 6-14 on the season with the wins.
Kirsten Ruen, a 5'10 senior forward from Columbus Grove, Ohio, registered 23 points and seven rebounds in a 75-64 win over Central State, and posted a double-double (16 points, ten rebounds) in a 76-44 win over Marygrove. Those two victories extended ODU's current win streak to five games, and lifts their record to 11-8 on the year.
