Life University's Running Eagles went out with a bang at their last home game of the season tonight against the Talladega College Tornadoes, 99-71. Life led for most of the first half and entered the second half ahead 39-30. Life's Greg Brown was the leading scorer with 20 points, followed by Bryant Dunn who scored 16 points and had 11 rebounds, 3 blocks and 3 steals. JaQuan Bray scored 14 points and Tay Barber scored 12 points and had 8 assists. As a team, the Running Eagles forced 17 steals and 33 turnovers. Talladega was led by Kerry Harvis who scored 21 points.
Life recognized their eight seniors tonight at the start of the game: Darius Bates, Bryant Dunn, Greg Brown, Tay Barber, Ryan Daugherty, Ken Moore, JaQuan Bray and Mario Bennett. It was a fitting end to have all of the seniors who were dressed score points tonight.
"This was probably our best defensive effort of the year. Everybody got involved and worked hard for 40 minutes," said Head Coach John Barrett. "It makes us feel good to be playing basketball at that level this late in the season against a good team. The Talladega series is always comeptitive, and we're proud of the way everyone played."
