Life celebrates a huge win tonight against #1 Mountain State University, 113-89. This is Life's 4th win against a top-10 team this season.

Life led the entire first half and entered the second half ahead 66-38. Life's Tay Barber scored 20 points and James Hooper scored 15, in the first half alone. As a team, the Running Eagles shot 74.4% from the field in the first half.Mountain State got within 9 points of the Running Eagles in the second half, when Life's James Hooper sunk a 3-pointer to regain the momentum for Life. Hooper had a triple double tonight with 28 points, 10 assists and 10 rebounds, and he went 10 for 12 in field goals. Tay Barber scored 31 points and went 10 for 15, followed by Greg Brown who scored 23 points and forced 4 steals. The Running Eagles went 66.7%  from the field, 57% from the 3-point line and 85% from the free-throw line, and forced 13 steals.

Mountain State's Nick Aldridge scored 20 points and had 8 rebounds, Winston Robinson scored 20 points, and Brian Ormon had 11 points and 13 rebounds. This was Mountain State's 'senior night' and final home game of the season.

Mountain State and Life University are the #1 and #2 seeds for the Association of Independent Institutions' tournament, which begins March 5 in Orangeburg, SC. Tonight's game was the second time the teams have met this season. Mountain State beat Life University in Marietta on January 30, 94-86. Mountain State's record is 26-2 and Life University is 19-10 for the season.
