The Night Hawks (22-8) swept a three game series from the visiting Louisiana State University - Alexandria Generals (6-27) by winning both games of a double header on Saturday afternoon at Varnedoe Stadium.
 
TU held a 10-1 lead after four in game one but LSUA mounted a come back by scoring a run in the fifth and followed with seven in the sixth to make it a one run game. The Night Hawks then buckled down to hold on for the 10-9 victory. Senior third baseman Adam Duncan (2-2, R, 2RBI, BB) and senior designated hitter Randy Adams (1-2, R, 2RBI) each drove in two runs. Junior starting pitcher Brandon Owens (5-3) tossed four innings of one run ball in the victory. The Night Hawk bullpen allowed eight runs (one earned) on eight hits. In game two the Generals led 2-0 after one but Thomas bounced back with five runs over the next three innings to take a 5-1 lead. LSUA got a run back in their half of the fifth but sophomore starting pitcher Kurtis Mancauskas (4-2) shut down Louisiana State the rest of the way picking up his fourth victory of the year. Mancauskas allowed three runs (one earned) on six hits in his fifth complete game of the season. Duncan (2-3, R, 2RBI, HR) hit his team leading eighth home run and sophomore center fielder Joey Kampfer (2-4, RBI, SB) had two hits.
 

Baseball will look for their fifth win in a row on Tuesday March 23 when they travel to Americus, GA to face NCAA DII Georgia Southwestern University. First pitch is set for 5PM.
