Panthers wins NAIA Unavviliated Group #2 A.I.I./KIAC Qualifying Tournament
COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Ohio Dominican men's golf team advanced to their second NAIA National Tournament in three seasons on Friday as they led the field from start to finish at the NAIA Unaffiliated Group #2 - A.I.I./KIAC Qualifying Tournament. The Panthers hosted the Qualifying Tournament at Jefferson Country Club in Blacklick, Ohio.
 

Ohio Dominican shot a team combined 955 in the three round qualifying event to earn their second national tournament appearance in school history. The Panthers posted a round one score of 324, which was four strokes better than second place finishers State University of New York - Delhi. ODU stretched their lead to 30 strokes in the round two as they shot a tournament low and team best 300. In the final round ODU posted a team score of 331 to lead the field by a total of 45 strokes. SUNY Delhi placed second with a combined score of 1000, followed by Brescia University who shot a total score of 1019.

       
ODU senior Nick Trego (Columbus, OH) held off teammate Tyler Sebert (Fr./Grove City, OH) to earn the medalist honors with a combined score of 232 (80/72/80). Trego's second round score of 72 pushed him into the lead and helped lead him to his second title of the season. Sebert shot a score of 238 (77/76/85) to place second. Kevin Hartoin (Fr./Cincinnati, OH) finished tied for third place with a combined score of 239 (82/75/82). 
       
All five Panthers finished the tournament in the top 10 with Josh Wolfe (Jr./Galion, OH) coming in seventh and Craig Inscho (Sr./Bucyrus, OH) finishing tied for tenth.
       
Trego, Sebert and Hartoin were joined by Indiana East's Nick Ary and SUNY Delhi's Justin Hearley on the All-Tournament Team. Ary finished tied for third, while Hearley placed fifth in the tournament.
       
Ohio Dominican will return to action on May 18-21 as they travel to Silvis, Illinois for the 59th Annual NAIA Men's Golf National Championships. The national championship will be held at TPC at Deer Run and hosted by Quad Cities of Iowa and Illinois.
