Sophomore Kelsey Brock posted a new career low with a second round 81 at the Unaffiliated Tournament
COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Ohio Dominican women's golf team just missed their first trip to the NAIA Women's Golf National Tournament on Tuesday as they finished second at the Unaffiliated Qualifying Tournament in Crossville, Tennessee. The Panthers finished three strokes behind tournament champions Thomas University (GA).
 

Ohio Dominican found themselves down nine strokes after their first round score of 344. The youthful Panthers team stormed back into contention on the second day as they shot a team record 335, but fell just short as their combined score of 679 wasn't enough to catch Thomas University. Thomas shot a two round total of 676 after a second day total of 341 to advance to the 16th Annual Women's Golf National Championship in Rapid City, South Dakota.

       
Jessica Macphee of Thomas held off the field after shooting a tournament low 158 (78/80) to finish as they tournament medalist. Natalie Foster of Tennessee Wesleyan took second after posting a score of 161 (78/83).
       
The Panthers had three players finish in the top 10 led by Kelsey Brock (So./Zanesville, OH) who shot a team low 167 (86/81) to finish fourth overall. Brock's second round score of 81 was a career low round. Amanda Costanzo (Fr./Silver Lake, OH) finished fifth with a combined score of 168 (84/84) in her first post season tournament of her career. Alexandria Numbers (So./Sugarcreek, OH) posted her best finish of the spring season with a 169 (87/82) to finish tied for sixth overall. Numbers also shot a career low in the second round. 
       
Ohio Dominican set a new school record with a 354.28 scoring average this season on their way to a 49-27 overall record.
