A two-run home run by LSU-Alexandria's James Howell set the tone early for the Generals as they upset the Lambuth Eagles 8-2 in the final game of the first day of the A.I.I. Baseball tournament.
Howell added another RBI in the third as LSUA jumped out to a 6-0 lead and went on to win their 12th game of the season. The Generals will play Houston-Victoria Thursday at 7 p.m.
Lambuth fell to 37-18 on the year and will play Voorhees at 11 a.m. Thursday.
Aryo Fleming pitched a complete game yielding just six hits. He threw a remarkable 153 pitches in the contest striking out 14 . Lambuth's Bart White and Mitch McClay had the RBI's for the Eagles. Brent Ebinger suffered only his third loss of the year.
