The Thomas University Lady Night Hawks (1-0) opened their season with a 2-0 victory over the host Brenau University Tigers (0-1) in Gainesville, GA on Friday night.

 

Freshman Carina Spengler and senior Emily Delozier gave TU the first half advantage and a rock solid defensive line anchored by junior goalkeeper Heather Collins and freshman central defender Hannah Claesson, held the lead in the second half. It is the second straight defeat of BU by the Lady Night Hawks after Thomas knocked them off 1-0 in the 2009 season finale. The Tigers opened the season nationally recognized after receiving votes in the NAIA Top 25 pre season poll.

TU returns to action on Sunday as they travel to Babson Park, FL to face Webber International University. Kickoff is set for 1pm.
