THOMAS, Ga. - California State University-San Marcos will enter the 2011 Association of Independent Institutions Soccer Championships as the top seeds in both the men's and women's divisions.
Thomas University will host the event which gets under way Friday, Nov. 11 and concludes with the championships games on Saturday, Nov. 12 at Remington Park.
Along with CSUSM and Thomas, the women's bracket will be composed of Emery-Riddle University (AZ) and Marygrove College, while the La Sierra and Marygrove join CSUSM and Thomas on the men's side.
Action begins at noon on Nov. 11 when top-seed CSUSM takes on No. 4 Embry-Riddle in the first women's semifinal match. Second-seeded Thomas will go against third-seed Marygrove at 5 p.m. in the other semifinal. The winners of the two semifinal matches will be Nov. 12 in the championship game at 5 p.m.
Second-seeded La Sierra will meet No. 3 Thomas in the first men's semifinal on Nov. 11 at 2:30 p.m., with top-seed CSUSM talking on No. 4 Marygrove in the final action of the day at 7:30 p.m. The winners advance to the Nov. 12 championship game set for 7:30 p.m.
