Dakota State University will play host to the 2012 Association of Independent Institutions Basketball Championships set for Feb. 24-26.

The year's event is being sponsored by State Farm Insurance and includes 10 teams (five women and five men). Pairings will be announced Feb. 19.

Action begins on Feb 24 with a pair of contests pitting the fourth and fifth seeds. The women's contest will begin at 6 p.m., followed by the men's game at 8 p.m.

Play continues on the women's side on Feb. 25 with the No. 2 and No. 3 seeds meeting at 1 p.m. and the No. 1 seed facing the No. 4-No. 5 winner at 3 p.m. The winners advance to the championship game on Feb. 26 at 4 p.m. and also receive automatic bids to the NAIA Women's Basketball Division II National tournament in Sioux City, Iowa on March 7-13.

Action on the men's side of the bracket picks back up at 5 p.m. on Feb. 25 with the No. 2 and No. 3 seeds going head-to-head. The top seed will then face the No. 4-No. 5 seed winner in a 7 p.m. contest. The winners advance to the Feb. 26 championship game at 6 p.m. and also earn an automatic bid to the NAIA Men's Basketball Division II National Tournament in Point Lookout, Mo., on March 7-13.
