PRESCOTT, ARIZ. - Paced by a 3-under 139 from Adam Loran on Monday, the California State University-San Marcos Cougars grabbed a three-shot lead over Victoria British Columbia at the A.I.I. Men's Golf Championships at Antelope hills Golf Course.
The Cougars posted rounds of 281-284 to finish the day at 565, while VBC overcame an opening-round 291 to card the best round of the day with a 277 second round to pull back in contention with the Cougars at 568.
The University of British Columbia stood in third place at 572 after rounds of 285-287, while Thomas University was fourth (289-284-573) and the University of Houston-Victoria was fifth (291-292-583.
Thomas' Matt Luckett was the individual lead at 5-under 137 after posting rounds of 69-68, while Loran was in a three-way tied for second. Loran had rounds of 71-68, while UBC's Conner Kozak came in at 70-69 and VBC's Darren Hupfer was in at 69-70. UBC's Jeremy Demers is in fifth at 71-69-140.
The final round will take place Monday afternoon with the winner receiving an automatci bid to the NAIA NAtional Championships.
