Ashford University's Emily Paull and Jamestown College's Mark Hoge have earned top honors in the Association of Independent Institutions this week as Paull has been named Female Athlete of the Week, while Hoge has been named the Male Athlete of the Week for the week of Nov. 26-Dec. 2.

Paull, a sophomore from Somonauk, Ill., won the women's half-marathon at the Frigid Bee Invitational in a time of 1:29:03 to surpass an NAIA "A" qualifying standard. With her time, Paull also becomes the first 2013 NAIA Women's Outdoor Track and Field Championship qualifier for the Saints.

Hoge, a 6-foot-3 guard from Ironton, MN, guided the Jimmies to a 1-1 week and with his play, helped the Jimmies hold seventh-ranked William Penn, the No. 1 ranked offensive team in the NAIA with a 106 per game average, to just 78 points in a 78-75 loss. He was 10-for-23 shooting, including 3-of-5 from 3-point range and finished with 29 points, nine rebounds and two assists. He also tallied 23 points with seven assists, three blocks and two steals in a win over Trinity Bible (ND).
