In a battle of former UBC Thunderbirds standouts and NAIA champions, it was Evan Dunfee who came out on top in the men's 20-kilometer race walk at the Canadian Track and Field Championships in Moncton, New Brunswick (June 27-29).
Dunfee, a native of Richmond, B.C., won in a time of one hour, 21 minutes and 57 seconds. Ben Thorne of Kitimat, B.C., finished second in 1:27.11, while Inaki Gomez of Vancouver did not finish.
