Tony Perez looks to improve on his 2nd team All-Conference selection in 2008

Head coach John Barlowe returns for his second season at the helm of the Lambuth Eagles baseball squad. Last season saw the Eagles finish with a 29-24 record and numerous accomplishments. The Eagles, which were predicted to finish ninth in the TranSouth Conference finished second and received an automatic bid to the regional tournament. The Lambuth squad qualified for the TranSouth Conference tournament for the first time since joining the conference and qualified for the regional tournament for the first time since 2003.

The Eagles will look to build on their success from last season as the squad returns all of the pitching staff from 2008 and returns six of the nine everyday starters in the field. Four of the six returning position players received all-conference or gold glove honors and two pitchers received all-conference honors. The 2009 recruiting class filled all of the holes and even allowed the Eagles to build quality depth in both the pitching staff and position players.
