Darien Moore, a Valley City State Uuniversity junior from Bakersfield, CA, became a national champion in the hammer throw at the NAIA National Championships held in Marion, IN, with a toss of 60.89m/200 feet.

In his first year at VCSU after transferring from Bakersfield College, Darien has broken Viking indoor track & field records in the shot put (15.98m) and weight throw (17.70), and qualified for nationals in both events.
